We are currently seeking a professional and self-motivated team player with the right combination of skills and experience to fill an opening as National Sales Manager to lead our team of Assessment Consultant sales professionals.
This Toronto-based management role is responsible for leading a team of five to seven Assessment Consultant sales professionals working with customers across a variety of market segments and professions. This includes recruiting, training, developing, and managing an effective sales force serving school board, hospital, agency and private practice professionals in psychology, speech pathology, education, and other disciplines. The National Sales Manager has direct management responsibility and is accountable for achieving sales goals and implementing sales strategies. The National Manager is also accountable for analysis, planning, and financial management.
Strong presentation, account development and leadership skills are necessary to motivate sales staff and achieve sales goals. Outstanding communication skills are critical as the National Manager will be working closely with a wide variety of internal departments at Pearson as well as working with our broad customer base. Strong computer skills are required, including knowledge of the entire Microsoft Office suite and especially Excel.
Experience/Competencies:
- Minimum three to five years of sales management experience (preferably within the publishing industry).
- Strong professional sales training background.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship development skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proven track record of developing and presenting successful business solutions to customers.
- Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure results meet best practices and focus on strategies.
- Strong multi-tasking, organizational, and time/priority management skills.
- French second language an asset.
Education:
- Post secondary education in sales, marketing, psychology or education.
Responsibilities:
- Overall planning and implementation of national sales strategies to maximize sales and exceed targets.
- Lead, manage and motivate a sales team of five to seven individuals to garner individual and team success.
- Ensure achievement of revenue targets.
- Create and maintain positive business relationships with customers and staff.
- Travel to key markets across Canada, as required.
